Kamyar Ahmadzadeh (KamyR) was born on November 28, 1978 in Tehran, Iran and raised in Paris, France since the age of two. He attended music conservatory school for eight years, with the piano as his primary instrument. During this time, KamyR focused on mixing traditional Middle Eastern music with Jazz/Blues. Before music became his profession, KamyR attended the University of Sorbonne Nouvelle in Paris, where he studied English.

At the age of 18, KamyR realized his passion for singing as well, and was mainly influenced by R&B, Soul and Funk, with Stevie Wonder as a major source of inspiration. But the path to realizing his dream of becoming a professional musician was not an easy one, as many of his early performances started on the streets and metro stations, alongside his best friend and partner Hakim Rachek.

In 2003, KamyR left Paris and arrived in Los Angeles in order to pursue his music career in the Persian market and found success as the new lead singer of the popular Persian band called "Black Cats". With his unique style of Persian R&B and his ability to sing in over seven languages, KamyR became an overnight music sensation in the Persian community. To date, he has toured in the UK, Canada, Europe, the Middle East, and the US at venues such as the Kodak Theater, Universal Gibson Amphitheater, Nokia Theatre and Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas.

In November 2009, KamyR performed the US National Anthem at an NBA game at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Through mixing R&B with Middle Eastern scales and techniques, KamyR has been able to cross over into the international market and sing with some of his biggest influences, such as his idol Stevie Wonder, with whom he had the opportunity to share the stage on two separate occasions: Stevie Wonder’s 16th Annual House Full of Toys concert and the ‘Never Again’ Peace Concert honoring Stevie Wonder.

KamyR's debut album "DOBAREH" was released worldwide in November 2010 and received critical acclaim for bringing an international sound to the Persian music industry and breaking the traditional barriers of conventional Persian pop. All tracks were produced and arranged by KamyR and Hakim Rachek (Natural Vibe Productions), with the exception of “Ey Jaan”, which was produced and arranged by Payam Shams.

At the heart of KamyR’s success is the belief that being an artist is far more than having the ability to sing or play instruments. A true artist is humble, spiritual, respectful, and above all, never forgets where he came from and the path that led him to realizing his dreams.
